India orders airline to explain flight disruptions - USA TODAY (blog)

On Monday airline officials were told to appear before the aviation body to explain why 32 flights were canceled over the weekend without informing the regulator.

The Press Trust of India quoted a top official saying that the authority is concerned about passenger safety.

In a weekend statement Kingfisher said that its bank accounts had been frozen by tax authorities for the second time in three months, but the financial woes would be resolved soon.

The airline has canceled flights citing "unexpected events" like bird hits.
